How can I play this wonderful game. I intend to buy it, but I don’t know very much about the registration. Do I have to pay some money every month, week. I don’t know exactly. Do I just have to buy it and that’s that or there is more that i don’t know. Can someone please tell me more about what I might expect from this game?

Okay so when you get this game, you will get 2 discs and a booklet.

Start off by installing the game by putting the discs in as usual.

You will then need to make your account, you can do this whilst installing. The account is made to secure your characters in the game and make transactions when you pay per month to play.

Go to www.funcom.com , click on ”My Conan Account” and there is an option to create a new account, now you will need to look at the back of your Age of Conan booklet and fill in the registration code in.

Follow the procedure and you will then be able to log into your account and mess with the settings from there.

You need to create a pay plan in your account settings which will involve setting up your credit or debit card info and opting for when cash should be taken in a 1 month / 3 month / year basis.

When you don’t feel like playing or taking a break, you need to cancel your account otherwise it will continue to take money. Your first month will be free just like any other MMO game.

Anyway once you have an account setup and your game has finished installing + updating anything extra, you should be able to click the play button. This will open up the game where you will watch a video and eventually be put into the login screen, put in your account user and password and login.

If my explanation wasn’t enough, the booklet you get with the game has it in better detail.

Currenty the game runs choppy, especially in the cities, I am wondering if the extra 2 Gigs of Ram will help enough to run it smoothly?

The extra 2gb ram will help you, but what is holding you back primarily is your graphics card. The 8600gt is a decent card but not for high end games and when the 8600gt is only 256mb. If you have the money then i would recommend you upgrade to the 8800gt 512mb. This will improve your gameplay MASSIVELY. You should be able to play it on max settings with this card.
If you don’t have money yet, then save up so you can buy it. But meanwhile, reinstall your video drivers and set everything to low settings.
